Pat Brazel, CEO, Zignals
Pat Brazel has over 25 years of experience working in the international financial software industry. He is chairman of PolarLake Ltd., a leading Irish integration technology company and is a senior partner in GoldTier Technologies LLC. He is CEO of Digital Minds Ltd. a Microsoft-participant company building Web 2.0 company focused on investment research solutions for stock market investors He is a director of Brady PLC the commodity trading systems company and of First Derivatives PLC a financial services consulting and software company, both of which are quoted on AIM in London. He was CEO of Eontec, the market leader in multi-channel retail banking solutions prior to its acquisition by Siebel Systems He was a founder and chairman of Sentry Financial Systems, the pre-eminent provider of collateral management software, prior to its acquisition by Algorithmics Inc. of Canada. Following an early career jobs in banking and commodity broking, he led SunGard Capital Markets, the dominant software supplier in the trading and risk management systems market for many years. He holds a Masters in Management Science from Trinity College, Dublin. He is a board member of the Dublin City University Educational Trust and of INVENT – DCU’ s innovation and commercialisation hub.
Fionuala Pender, Executive Director, IIBN
Prior to joining IIBN in September 2007, Fionuala was the Executive Director of the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE UK), a global not for profit networking organisation which spans 45 cities in 11 countries. Fionuala headed up two TiE offices in London and Manchester and worked closely with the Board to help drive strategy. During her 4 years with TiE, Fionuala delivered a technology focused tour in India which showcased over 100 technology start up companies in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. In the UK, Fionuala saw the group triple in membership and corporate sponsorship was gained from 4 key industry sectors. Fionuala also helped to build and deliver a mentoring programme to the growing membership who required business guidance and advice. Fionuala has also worked for Lehman Brothers Investment Bank within its IBD Technology division. Fionuala is a graduate from the London School of Economics, and her first job after graduating was for a London based charity which focused on alleviating poverty in the UK working closely with the European Union.
Sinead Crowley, Executive Director, IIBN
Sinead moved to the UK three years ago and now shares the Executive Director role at IIBN with Fionuala Pender.
Prior to moving Sinead worked as a Projects Manager with the South West Regional Authority in Ireland for almost 15 years on EU and Nationally funded programmes & projects related to regional and socio-economic development. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, socio-economic development, cross sector partnership development, innovation and knowledge based economy, collaborative environments, broadband and the information society, edemocracy, egovernment and distance learning at regional, national and pan-EU levels. Sinead is a Joint Honours Arts Graduate of UCC and Post Graduate Diploma in Law from College of Commerce Rathmines. When not working at IIBN Sinead helps with fundraising, events and strategic planning at UK registered Irish Charity icap.

Russell has twenty years international experience in brand marketing, sponsorship consultancy, journalism and event management in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Specific experience includes developing, implementing and managing integrated marketing, media and sponsorship campaigns for blue chip and multinational companies; turning the global passion for sport and entertainment into a successful, measurable (ROI) marketing and business platform for our clients; utilising our experience and international network in the field of sports, entertainment and media to guide clients through this specialist area.
Caitlin O’Connor, Managing Director, Accelerating Performance

Hayes Culleton Ltd is an international financial training company that specializes in eLearning development and delivery. Susan introduced the company to the international markets in 2011 and was nominated for the Enterprise Europe Network Rising Star Awards last year. In 2008, she wrote a digitised module called “Introducing Wall Street to the Classroom”tomake the stock market approachable and accessible for second level students. Susan regularly contributes to the national and international media including TheSunday Times (Malta), RTE, Newstalk and Today FM (Ireland), as “The Positive Economist” on matters relating to economics, the stock market and entrepreneurship.
Pat Carroll, Founder, Touch Communications
With over 25 years experience in traditional sales and marketing, Pat’s business interests evolved, in 2010, into the area of digital marketing. In the roles of Community and Business Development Manager, with Irish social network, ’RendezVous353’, he grew the online membership to over 10,000, in its first year. During this time, he orchestrated the event management of the network’s official launches in New York & London.Working ’on the ground’ with Irish networks, was key to this, though most of the growth took place online. This was achieved using the main social networks; Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as employing other digital marketing tools, such as newsletters and blogs. Paul McSharry, Managing Director, FTI Consulting, Dublin Paul McSharry is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting’s, Strategic Communications Division. FTI Consulting is a business advisory firm designed to address the interrelated challenges that can affect an organisation’s enterprise value. FTI offers highly specialised expertise in the areas of compliance, risk, reputation, liability, performance, finance and information. Paul manages FTI’s strategic communications business in Ireland and has overseen its growth over the last 8 years. Paul mainly works in the areas of corporate PR, issues management and public affairs. He has worked on many high profile issues and campaigns in Ireland, including two award winning campaigns in 1996 and 2003. Paul has over twenty years experience in the Irish communications industry. During this time he has worked with major Irish and international clients including Vodafone, AIB Capital Markets, The Health Insurance Authority, Shell and Coca Cola.
