Dublin Board

The Dublin Board consists of the following business professionals and entrepreneurs:

Pat Brazel, Chair, IIBN Dublin. Pat Brazel is the CEO, Zignals.
Pat Brazel has over 25 years of experience working in the international financial software industry. He is chairman of PolarLake Ltd., a leading Irish integration technology company and is a senior partner in GoldTier Technologies LLC. He is CEO of Digital Minds Ltd. a Microsoft-participant company building Web 2.0 company focused on investment research solutions for stock market investors He is a director of Brady PLC the commodity trading systems company and of First Derivatives PLC a financial services consulting and software company, both of which are quoted on AIM in London. He was CEO of Eontec, the market leader in multi-channel retail banking solutions prior to its acquisition by Siebel Systems He was a founder and chairman of Sentry Financial Systems, the pre-eminent provider of collateral management software, prior to its acquisition by Algorithmics Inc. of Canada. Following an early career jobs in banking and commodity broking, he led SunGard Capital Markets, the dominant software supplier in the trading and risk management systems market for many years. He holds a Masters in Management Science from Trinity College, Dublin. He is a board member of the Dublin City University Educational Trust and of INVENT – DCU’ s innovation and commercialisation hub.

Russell Murphy, Founder and owner, BSI Entertainment.
Russell has twenty years international experience in brand marketing, sponsorship consultancy, journalism and event management in Europe, the Americas and Asia. Specific experience includes developing, implementing and managing integrated marketing, media and sponsorship campaigns for blue chip and multinational companies; turning the global passion for sport and entertainment into a successful, measurable (ROI) marketing and business platform for our clients; utilising our experience and international network in the field of sports, entertainment and media to guide clients through this specialist area.

Caitlin O’Connor, Managing Director, Accelerating Performance.
Caitlin founded Accelerating Performance after holding several positions of trust in marketing, strategy and management across telecommunications, aviation and service industries. Her company focuses on growth through forward thinking with individuals, team and organizations with marketing and people performance at the core. Caitlín is adamant about a focus on the customer – sets strategic direction and supports teams to deliver with success. One of the core strengths she brings to the table is being commercially astute focusing on ROI while delivering on strategic and tactical marketing. Caitlín has always been a results orientated marketing professional. Accelerating Performance works with organizations, MBA programs and companies using blended learning to develop leadership acumen (using EQ), networking skills and marketing methodologies for growth. Caitlín has published Engage – Lead Generation through networking in 2010. She also founded Networth and Residence Business Club and manages Fingal Business Network. Caitlín is a regular speaker and media contributor on networking, lead generation, referral strategies, emotional intelligence and leadership topics

Paul McSharry, Managing Director, FTI Consulting, Dublin.
Paul McSharry is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting’s, Strategic Communications Division. FTI Consulting is a business advisory firm designed to address the interrelated challenges that can affect an organisation’s enterprise value. FTI offers highly specialised expertise in the areas of compliance, risk, reputation, liability, performance, finance and information. Paul manages FTI’s strategic communications business in Ireland and has overseen its growth over the last 8 years. Paul mainly works in the areas of corporate PR, issues management and public affairs. He has worked on many high profile issues and campaigns in Ireland, including two award winning campaigns in 1996 and 2003. Paul has over twenty years experience in the Irish communications industry. During this time he has worked with major Irish and international clients including Vodafone, AIB Capital Markets, The Health Insurance Authority, Shell and Coca Cola. He was formerly a Director of Fleishman-Hillard’s Irish business and a senior consultant with Murray Consultants in Dublin. Paul has an MA in Economics from University College Dublin.

Conor Foley, Global IIBN Chairman and CEO, WorldSpreads
Conor Foley is the CEO and co-founder of WorldSpreads Group plc., the financial markets trading company with offices in London, Dublin, Europe and the Far East. Prior to launching WorldSpreads, Conor was Chief Dealer with Smurfit Paribas Bank in Dublin, with whom he worked from 1989 to 1998. Conor has been short-listed by Ernst & Young for Entrepreneur of the Year in Ireland three times. He serves on the Executive Committee of Co-Operation Ireland, a charity dedicated to promoting better relations between the people of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Conor has a Masters Degree in Economics from University College, Dublin and is a mentor on the London Business School MBA Summer Programme.

Fionuala Pender, Global Executive Director, IIBN
Prior to joining IIBN in September 2007, Fionuala was the Executive Director of the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE UK), a global not for profit networking organisation which spans 45 cities in 11 countries. Fionuala headed up two TiE offices in London and Manchester and worked closely with the Board to help drive strategy. During her 4 years with TiE, Fionuala delivered a technology focused tour in India which showcased over 100 technology start up companies in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. In the UK, Fionuala saw the group triple in membership and corporate sponsorship was gained from 4 key industry sectors. Fionuala also helped to build and deliver a mentoring programme to the growing membership who required business guidance and advice. Fionuala has also worked for Lehman Brothers Investment Bank within its IBD Technology division. Fionuala is a graduate from the London School of Economics, and her first job after graduating was for a London based charity which focused on alleviating poverty in the UK working closely with the European Union.
