Currently ten years in New York, Rory is a senior manager at Grant Thornton FinTech Advisory. His role includes the building and execution of the firms FinTech strategy as well as co-developing with technology providers, prototyping and delivering solutions across security/biometrics, asset management, mortgages and financial crimes for Grant Thornton banking clients.
Rory is also working on building out the Grant Thornton innovation lab, its ecosystems and technology partners.
Previous roles included start-up, advisory and business development positions and projects with PolarLake (acquired by Bloomberg), Enterprise Ireland, Samsung and MasterCard.
Other experiences include fourteen months in Incheon, South Korea, in education and business consulting as well as three years in Frankfurt for Bowne specializing in SEC and BaFin filings, reporting and publishing, where his clients were investment banks.
Originally from Donegal, Rory holds an MSc. International Business from DIT, a BSc. in Management from Trinity College and a FinTech Certificate from MIT.
Rory participates in New York and Connecticut running and charity events, supports the Irish Rep theatre, mentors recent graduates, retains a strong interest in Gaelic football and plays music and golf as well.
He is married to Diane and they have a daughter called Cara.
