Avolon was subsequently taken private again within eight months of listing, being sold for $7.6bn to Chinese investors, Bohai Capital, which delivered a 55% return to shareholders who invested in Avolon’s IPO

In November 2018, they announced that ORIX, a Japanese financial…

He made the decision to set up a new distillery.

It took 16 years to get the resources to do so. In the meantime he lectured in Business Administration at University College Dublin and developed a series of mining and oil exploration companies. In 1986 he set up Cooley Distillery, followed 19 years later with the…

  • IIBN at Lord's Cricket Ground

  • Location: Lord's Cricket Ground, St John's Wood Road, London NW8 8QN
  • Description:

    IIBN at Lord’s

A huge thank you to the team at Lord’s Cricket Ground for hosting IIBN in February ahead of this year’s historic Test match between England and Ireland from Wednesday July 24 to Saturday July 27.

The event was undoubtedly one of our most successful to date, with over 200 guests attending on the evening. We were also pleased to welcome guests from some of the other Irish networks and societies - it goes to show that there is nothing that can bring Irish people together like an Ireland v England game.

During the event, Members had the opportunity to take a highly-entertaining tour of the Pavilion and hear the history of Lord’s from one of the guides. The feedback on the tours has been really exceptional and we’re delighted we were able to offer this unique opportunity to our Members.

Our thanks also to Jamie Clifford, Assistant Secretary at the MCC for the warm welcome; and to Alan Lewis, former Irish cricket player and retired Irish…
